If you have been to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort you know it is a world class resort with amazing golf courses, food and service. The golf courses at Bandon Dunes are very good, but it’s the overall experience that really makes this a special place. It’s the perfect setup for a buddies trip and what started for us 11 years ago with 24 golfers has grown to 48 guys and is always the highlight of the year.

The first course at the resort, Bandon Dunes, opened on May 19, 1999 and was designed by David McLay Kidd. In July 2001 the Tom Doak design, Pacific Dunes opened and is still my favorite Bandon course today. The third golf course to open on June 1, 2005 was Bandon Trails, which was a very different course. The team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw designed Bandon Trails, which has some of the best par 3’s at the resort. Old Macdonald opened 5 years later on June 2010 and was designed by Tom Doak and Jim Urbina. The Par 3 course, Bandon Preserve, designed by Bill Coore and and Ben Crenshaw opened May 2012 and has to be one of the best Par 3 courses in the country. Groups of 8 are allowed to play and every year some of the highlights of the trip are rounds we played at Bandon Preserve.

Sheep Ranch is the newest course which opened on June 1, 2020. Having had a chance to view and play the course, this will likely become the most popular course at the Bandon Dunes Resort.

We are offering some of our favorite pictures we have taken over the years staying and playing at Bandon Dunes. Being golfers we try to bring a unique perspective to capturing some of our favorite Bandon holes. You might be surprised to know that many of these pictures, including the sunsets, were taken the end of February. Those that have played at Bandon Dunes know you have to be prepared for any type of weather regardless of the time of the year.
